I visited Denver in 2015 for a short time, for the Taylor Swift concert. I have to say, it wasn't my favorite city that I've ever been to, but I'm completely open to giving it another chance. Today I thought I'd share the things you definitely can't miss if you have 24 hours in Denver.
We stayed right in downtown Denver on our trip there, and we loved exploring the downtown area. My most fond memory of the trip was walking up into the hills and finding a cute little mexican restaurant to eat lunch at. Exploring a city without any real things you are looking for is truly one of the most fun things to do.
See a Game
Denver is home to both the Colorado Rockies baseball team as well as the Denver Broncos football team. Depending on what time of year you visit Denver, you can usually see one of these teams play. The Broncos are very famous, meaning ticket prices are slightly higher for them than the Rockies, but both stadiums are stunning and would be a ton of fun.
16th Street Mall
When we visited Denver, we stayed right at the top of the 16th street mall. There's a bus that runs down the entire thing that you can hop on and off of whenever you want. I had a creepy man fondle my body while on this bus, so be careful and watch your surroundings. There's tons to do throughout the 16th street mall, including shops, restaurants and more.
Something I didn't know about Denver is that they have tons of breweries, wineries and distilleries. Make an afternoon out of a couple of different brewery tours, and get day drunk. It's vacation, why not?
Mount Evans Scenic Byway
If you have time, and a car, make sure you head up to the Mount Evans scenic byway. Denver is surrounded by some absolutely stunning mountains, and the Mount Evans scenic byway gives you a great chance to explore the surrounding areas and get some great views.
